Welcome to my new category, Linda’s Natural Beauty Tips! Here I give you natural hair care, holistic health, and various DIY beauty tips, to look and feel your best.
I have been a natural for 12 years now. I’ve found the best home remedies for skin and hair care that are incredibly affordable.
Not only are they affordable to make but also easy. You can also purchase most of these things relatively cheap!
Pssst! Something no one else discusses in depths!
I learned the safest and healthiest techniques to grow hair past bra strap length right from your garden!
I also found the most affordable way to blend stretchmarks with your natural skin tone!
How to recover from a foot surgery gone wrong?
In this category, I step outside my parenting tips field and offer another expertise category I have researched for over a decade.
Are you tired of beauty hype and misleading labels aimed at natural hair care?
If you answered yes, then you’ve come to the right place.
This new section of my website is all about real, honest, and tested natural beauty tips and home remedies for natural hair and skin care.
Not to mention remedies for good health and overall well being.
I’m taking the guesswork out of:
- Natural skin care Health
- Natural hair care (mainly kinky hair, especially for those needing natural hair care regimens).
- Home remedies that actually work to heal your body from within
- Beauty tips to feel confident
After all, good health starts from within.
Do you Struggle With Skin Issues?

Things like skin discoloration, dry skin, stretch marks, eczema, or other skin issues?
If you also said yes, you’re not alone.
You’ll be shocked to know that I have all those issues and more with my skin and hair.
Both my sons have ezcema and I’ve managed to heal them from their skin condition.
I have tried nearly every “solution,” and I am here to tell you what works, not what sells.
There are thousands of beauty products claiming to be for natural hair care or claiming to help your hair grow.
Don’t fall into the hype! It gets expensive!
Beauty trends are on the rise, and according to explodingtopics.com:
59% of people are influenced by products that are described as natural and organic.
However, we don’t truly know if these products are actually organic.
Wouldn’t knowing how to make your OWN natural organic product right from your garden be amazing?
I can help you with that!
After all, I have fallen to the hype about skin and natural hair care products too many times to count.
The million-dollar question is…
Do These Organic Products Really Work?

Probably not, which I’m sure you’ve also seen for yourself.
I’ve tested some out and am here to tell you that some work, but some don’t.
I find it more affordable to make the products myself.
However, I purchase things like Shea butter online.
For example, I started my shea butter journey sixteen years ago with my first pregnancy.
Eager to avoid these dreaded streaks, I researched till my eyes popped out!
I thought I had found the best ways and avidly tried everything.
“Rub shea butter to avoid stretch marks when you’re pregnant.”
“Use Bio oil to prevent stretchmarks.”
“Avoid scratching to prevent tearing your skin.”
(Rolling eyes) It might work for some lucky mommas, but it didn’t work for me!
I slept with oven mitts most nights and still got stretch marks! Tons!
Although shea butter is an excellent cream for hair, eczema, and dry skin, stretch marks do not disappear.
They are genetic, and if you’re a teeny momma like me, your skin had excessive stretching in the pregnancy(ies).
I was almost 19 when I had my first son, and my stomach stretched in the 10th month of my pregnancy.
People didn’t know, but most first pregnancies can last 41 weeks. That happened to me.
The problem is that there is a sea of YouTube videos that claim to help you eliminate stretch marks.
Many are to sell products.
However, I discovered how to blend them, not eliminate them.
My main secret is my derma roller and derma stamp kit. These work to slowly match stretch marks to skin tone.
I will write about stretch marks, scars, and more in this category.
I’m not embarrassed to show my stretch marks at all.
I’ve come a long way and grown to love my new tummy.
My sons are my biggest blessings.

Pictures Tell the Best Story!

If you are tired of doing endless research on these things then I suggest sticking around for my helpful and time-saving insights.
- Do you want naturally soft and supple skin and hair?
- Do you have a protruding or coning and doming of your belly after having kids or perhaps after weight gain?
- Specifically during workouts or when you’re straining with a heavy object?
If you answered yes, that may be diastasis recti, a fancy word for abdominal split, which men can also get.
I’m on a journey to heal my diastasis recti, and I will have updates for you in this category!
I recently started to take the journey more seriously.
In the first image on the top left corner, I was 2 months postpartum: June 2015.
My gap was closing, but with all of the hospital visits with a then fragile baby, Anthony was too much.
I quit my journey on closing my diastasis recti.
The Search for Solutions to Closing Mommy Pooch
There is a surgery to correct diastasis recti, but that’s mainly for gaps that are too difficult to heal.
So far, Lauren Fitter’s program on YouTube, “Lose your mommy pooch,” is working wonders for me.
With just 6 weeks my stomach is noticeably flatter! Thanks Lauren!
I love testing things out, especially home remedies for skin and natural hair care.
I also like taking tons of pictures and videos of my process.
Whether it is derma stamping and rolling my stretch marks or surgery tales, my skin is a map of many stories.
I’ve been through two c sections, two foot surgeries, and lived to tell the tale!
Look at my toes. Hahaha, they are so puffy from foot surgery!
But that infection was quite gross to behold! If you’re squeamish, you may want to skip to the next part.
Foot Surgery is Not for the Weak

I will guide you through coping with the pain of foot surgery.
Also, yes, I will detail how to blend your surgery scars so it’s less noticeable (wink wink).
I almost lost my right foot due to an infection it caught thanks to a cranky medical assistant carelessey cutting my stitches.
I’ll be detailing that story too, including what home remedies I needed and who saved my foot!
I also try my hardest to follow holistic approaches when it comes to healing my body unless absolute surgery is necessary. (like my foot and 2 c-sections)
The holistic approach to beauty, skin, and hair care has existed for six thousand years, starting in ancient Egypt.
You can heal your tummy both on the outside and inside.
The workouts heal the gap whereas the skin beauty tips and home remedies make your skin tight and firm again.
Did You Know?

Various plants and seeds can help your hair grow if you’re experiencing hair thinning or balding.
For example, plants like aloe vera have powerful medicinal properties for both in and out of your body.
I’ve been a natural for 12 years and counting. Aloe vera is mainly used in my natural hair care routine.
It helps to maintain a youthful appearance, and I rarely wear makeup.
At 33 years old, I constantly get stopped when running errands or going out.
People believe I’m a model and refuse to believe me when I tell them my age. I’ve been told I look 18 constantly.
People are blown away that I have a 15-year-old and an almost 11-year-old. They can’t believe it!
What is my secret?
My secret is the (wink wink) natural hair care, holistic health, and beauty tips I use.
In this section of my blog, you will find complete guides with real remedies that work, like never before.
You’re in for quite a treat!
Natural Home Remedies, Natural Hair care, and Beauty Tips

I use home remedies, natural products, and always find the quickest route for DIY’s.
- Remedy for the cold? I got it
- Remedy for acne and pimples? I got it
- Remedy for an achy ear? I got it
- Remedy for itchy skin? I got it!
I live on the forums of Reddit, finding solutions to typical skin issues that I face, as well as millions of others.
From natural hair care to solving skin discoloration products, I love finding natural life hacks for beauty and health.
Not to mention YouTube comments offer a world of helpful and unhelpful advice.
I’ve gotten good at weeding through the troublesome and fake comments to finding things that offer ACTUAL solutions.
I enjoy solving problems and always search for the next thing to solve.
The most rewarding feeling is knowing I am helping others who face the same worries as I once did.
From stretchmarks to eczema, I have countless skin imperfections. I’m not perfect!
Honestly, striving for perfection is not the goal. Feeling good about yourself is the goal!
But, how did I get so good at all this, you may be asking?
Previous Blogging Was my Experience!

Big secret: In my early twenties, while pregnant with Anthony, I studied online at university.
I was originally studying to be a director of nursing (believe it or not), but life took a different course, causing me to pause my studies.
I had a blog called thinklikelinda.com, where I shared many skin, relationship, and hair tips.
His father was the mastermind behind the blog and helped me create the name and site.
However, I was young and inexperienced and didn’t really solve big problems.
I tested hair products, parenting tips, relationship tips, interviewed people, and wrote just to write.
Something was missing!
I hit a hard patch three years into writing, and reality got too real in my life.
Mom-life balancing two young children (Anthony’s older sister and brother) and a newborn with cystic fibrosis became too much for me.
Anthony was born with cystic fibrosis which was a life changing experience for his father, our kids, families, and I.
It was too much between studying for a bachelor’s degree, raising a family, and blogging.
After the ship sailed on my relationship with Anthony’s father, my site went downhill, and I stopped writing for nine years.
After all, Anthony’s father was the one skilled in building, marketing, managing, designing, and creating websites, not me.
I was the writer and photographer!
Nine years is a long time to take a break!
However, fast forward to 2025 and here I am learning so much 1 year into blogging independently.
Having a son with cystic fibrosis changed my entire life.
My son inspired my website, and this is how MLindawrites.com was born.
Creating a website gave me a whole new purpose and meaning in writing.
I’m always solving problems and find fun ways to do it.
Helping families of children with medical conditions with creative problem-solving is gratifying and inspiring.
I now have five categories with this one, and I am excited to help anyone reading this post.
Natural Hair Care and Beauty Tips Over a Decade of Research

Despite my nine-year break from writing, I never stopped experimenting with holistic approaches and beauty tips.
I’ve tested skin products like:
- The Nuderma Wand
- Derma rollers
- Recently, the derma stamp
- Hyaluronic acid Serum
- Alum Powder
- Baking soda and hydrogen peroxide
- And more!
I was determined to start a website again and continue my mission of helping others.
With this beauty tips category, I feel like I’m picking back up where I left off. But with more experience this time.
I stopped relaxing my hair when I discovered I was pregnant with Anthony.
Thanks to Anthony’s father who convinced me my natural hair can be beautiful if I give it a chance to grow out.
Quitting hair relaxers was the best decision I could have ever made.
During my pregnancy I began my natural hair journey and was estatic to see the birth of my natural curls.
When I had my first website, my natural hair journey was inspired by watching hair gurus and Natural Queens: Naptural85 and TheChicNatural on YouTube.
Just like you, I also remember being lost in waves of confusion.
So much information and so little truth.
However, I didn’t realize how easy it would get finding solutions to common problems as I got older.
Not only that, but I’ve never felt so alive.
Being able to help others refuled a fire within that had long been dead.
